Causes of the American revolution & Holiday/Winter Traditions liberty tree ornamenets
Today you have the opportunity to learn about the significant causes, battles, and consequences of the American Revolution. Your task will be to research and create at least two Christmas card style ornaments, each about a different topic from the list below. Each ornament must include a summary of one important cause or event of the American Revolution, the significance of the event (meaning what the consequence was or what it led to) and a visual representation of the event that is colored. Don't forget to document your sources, all you need is the URL for this assignment. Once you have completed your research, you will design and create an ornament that will be displayed on our "Liberty Tree". Your ornaments must be built like a greeting card you can open, with the picture and name of the topic on the front (colored) and the summary/significance on the inside. These will be arranged on the Liberty tree in the hallway for all of the 8th grade to see. Your peers will do a gallery walk and grade your ornaments on visual appeal, neatness, thoroughness and accuracy of information. These must be completed no later than the end of the class period on Thursday. Use this Revolutionary War Timeline link to begin your research. Be creative and have fun!!
